This was my second Viking River cruise and they were both incredible! The first was The Heart of Germany during Christmas week and the second was The Danube Waltz during the summer.

The service is spectacular and they really know how to make you feel special. I love the fact that EVERYTHING is included such as the air, airport pick up and drop off, excursions with local knowledgeable guides, beer & wine with lunch and dinner, water in the room, water on the excursions, umbrellas if needed, coffee & tea 24 hours a day, etc.

The ships are small (around 180 passengers) so everyone gets to know one another and you make friends very quickly. The food is out of this world phenomenal and they even offer a complimentary tour of the kitchen one of the nights after dinner so you may see how everything works behind the scenes.

Cabin Review

French Balcony

Cabin D

The french balcony room was nice but very small. I loved the fact that you could open the sliding glass door for fresh air at any time during the cruise.

I also loved the heated floor in the bathroom.

On our first VRC we had a room with a window and it was larger than the french balcony room.

Port Reviews

Went on the walking tour around the city with time on our own. Loved this city.

Durnstein (Krems)

LOVED this small quaint little town. We only stopped here for a few hours and climbed to the top of the mountain to see old castle ruins with a spectacular view of the Danube River. We had just enough time to go through a few shops and buy a few things. You must try the apricot liquor, Bailoni.

Cesky Krumlov

The bus ride took about 1 1/2 hours but well worth it. The tour was fantastic and the views, shops and food were amazing.
