We did a HAL Alaska Land & Sea cruise from Vancouver that included 3 days in Denali, and we added 5 days onto the end of the trip to explore on our own. It was the right combination of land and sea for us. The cruise up the inside passage was captivating but Denali was truly the pinnacle of the trip. The extra 5 days allowed us to explore the Kenai Peninsula, which was the icing on the cake.
Holland treated us very well throughout. Our Neptune Suite 7087 had plenty of space and storage, with a nice V-shaped verandah so we could look forward as well as to the side, which was great for photos. We made extensive use of the Neptune Lounge amenities and concierge. The included laundry service was a definite plus. All of the HAL staff we interacted with did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome and appreciated.
Our special "date night" meal at the Canaletto was one of the best meals we've had anywhere. The Main Dining Room meals were good, although a little chaotic due to the size and noise of such a large space. We had two excellent dinners delivered to our room when we were too tired to deal with that.
Our cabin was quiet and comfortable, with plenty of room and storage. We made use of the verandah each day, regardless of the weather, to take photos and soak it all in. The bathroom had plenty of room for keeping all of our "stuff" handy. Our suite had a V-shaped verandah so we could look both forward and out the side of the ship, which was great for photos.
