We chose this cruise because it was on a ship we haven't been on before and it was going to Canada. Later in the year we are going to the Caribbean. Therefore, we were not interested in going there now. Also, this is our ninth time to Canada. We enjoy going to Canada. We like leaving and returning to NYC since we live here. No traveling to catch the ship which can be troublesome.

We chose a stateroom on the aft part of the ship. We like that part of the ship. This was the first time we had a stateroom on any cruise line that did not have a couch in it, or a table near the couch. Paint was left on the furniture on the balcony. Did not make eating on the balcony seem too appetizing. The room steward did not introduce himself to us before the safety drill. He did give us what we wanted, but, you had to find him first. There was enough closet space and storage space. Suitcases came up to the room fast.

Dining- The dining room was pleasant and the service was very good. The Maitre' D did change tables for us quickly when my wife complained about the table with fixed seats being not good for her. The food met the Carnival standard and was very good. We did eat at the Lido Deck a few times. The space was too small for the number of passengers on the ship.

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Although Carnival is known for having the largest staterooms per category, this one seemed small. There was enough room for storage. There was paint on the floor of the balcony, and on the furniture. They did clean this up upon complaint. There was a cleaning rag left on balcony that they did not take away.

Port Reviews

Saint John (New Brunswick)

We walked around St. John. This was our sixth time at this port. Went to the oldest market in that part of Canada. It was nice. Then we went to two nearby parks. One park had a loyalist burial ground. Why would someone from the U.S. would want to come to visit a grave of someone that wanted to move after we broke from England is beyond me. Then we walked back to the ship.

Halifax

This was our ninth time in Halifax. Walked along the Harbor Walk and stopped at Cows Creamery, and Tim Horton's Coffee Shop. Got my wife a Lobster roll and tried to pizza across the street. There are better pizza places in Halifax.

New York (Manhattan)

I live here. Just went from my house to the cruise port.
