I chose RCL because I was interested in the size of the ship. It took us 3 hours to get to the port and upon arrival was met with the most disorganized and confusing drop off, including rude workers and a nasty BSO officer. Who stepped in front of our car as we were moving and then accused us of almost running him over. We did not know which way to look, because workers were all over the road yelling at people to move on, no obvious signage or explanations. Just Yelling!!!!! After that, the rest, of the action was a piece of cake.

The ship is beautiful and the staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. Do not buy the drink package unless you are a major drinker or plan on sneaking drinks to your friends. The package for regular drinks, including non alcoholic is 20 bucks a day. 50 plus includes alcohol and wine, equals 500 bucks a week. Drinks are $12.50 and under daily. I usually drink two drinks at most. The last two days of sailing, you can purchase an all you can drink package for 30 bucks. More affordable. The cabin was nice and we had a view of central park, which I enjoyed because I would leave my cabin window ajar to listen to the lovely music wafting up. You can't go wrong with the dining experience, the windjammer is casual and quite an assortment, but the American Icon Dining along with the other choices were a wonderful experience too. Throw down foods like Sorrento or the Park Cafe are good fast choices, (including the Coney Island dogs). Entertainment was also quality but so disorganized, even if you have a reservation, it is first come first serve. The lines are horrendous, so you need to get there super early or just as doors open. But be aware, that even though you are not suppose to hold seats, people were holding seats and rows of seats. This doesn't concern me as much because I sit where I please. Some venues were too small for the events, and so there was only standing room to watch. That should not be allowed or acceptable period! Other than - it's a cruise!! Tips for excursions, if you are a worrier, than pay the top dollar for the excursions on board, or step out of the port and direct yourself to the tour guides. Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Kitts, all had reputable people, licensed, uniformed and ready to assist for a lesser cost. Why, because the cruise takes a cut and therefore the cost is higher through them. Fortunately, we made friends with one of the cruise personnel and he steered as the right way, also got us discounts for a lot of the island excursions (half the cost if we paid cash) and we weren't cheated, the excursions were better and provided a lot of flexibility. I do not recommend the horse back riding at St. Kitts, although I enjoyed it and did not pay full price, I found it to just be a pain in the bottom. You go up a trail to the beginning of a rain forest - not all the way and then you rest for 15 minutes and come right back down. The horse all know what to do and will take their place in line, no matter how much you try to control them. I really recommend that if you are not familiar with horses, don't make this your first try. Unfortunately, there was a mother and teenage daughter who made the whole experience unpleasant. It was the teen ager's first time on a horse and she cried, screamed and complained through the whole trail. I don't know why they just didn't take them back, screaming makes the horses skittish. I guess in order not to refund the cash, they didn't take her back. Enjoy the islands with out the excursion, enjoy the food, the people and the sites, just be informed of where you are going.

Cabin Review

Central Park View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin C1

I heard some people complain about their cabins, but I did not have any. I had a lovely view of Central Park, enjoyed people watching and music from my balcony. When you close the sliding doors, you couldn't hear a thing - perfect. You can hear outside of your front door, people walking, talking, doors closing. So be prepared. We had a great attendant, his name was Hough. Gave us a lot of tips of where to go and eat.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

We did our own excursion. When you step out of the port, there are dozens of taxi's and tour buses at a safe location. We paid 25 dollars for a tour bus ride around the island. Made friends with the guide, Thomas who later dropped us off at a beach and picked us up. He was informative and made several stops so the group could get out and look around. Very laid back, we enjoyed ourselves.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

this was our port no excursion for us, but we are forced to provide a review??
