We chose this cruise based on the recommendation of our travel agent and she gave great advice. This was our first time cruising and we were very pleased with the entire experience. The cabin was fine. The food was very well done. It was plentiful and also there were plenty of choices. We found we preferred eating in one of the restaurants, even for breakfast, as opposed to the buffet unless we were on a tight timeline. Some choices were always there, others changed daily.

We had added three days on land and found the McKinley Princess Lodge and Denali Princess Lodge to be just fine. Nothing fancy but the views were excellent and things were run well and on time.

Excursions we liked were the Byers Lake walk near McKinley Princess Lodge, the Denali Wilderness Hike out of Denali Princess Lodge, Train trip to the Pass out of Skagway as well as the Ghosts and Good Time Girls from the same port, and the Whale Watching/Mendenhall Glacier tour out of Juneau. One note about the Denali WIlderness Hike. This one caught be a bit off guard. It was listed as strenuous but also said no one could go that was over 300 pounds. Being more than 100 pounds under that I thought that if someone close to 300 pounds could do it then it couldn't be that hard. This tour really moved at a quick pace and had an elevation change of around 1500 feet that happened several times. It was strenuous so don't be fooled by the requirements. It truly was worthwhile though with stunning views and a chance to get off into the wilderness.

Balcony

Cabin BB

The cabin was exactly what you see on the Princess site. It was clean, well kept up, and having a balcony on Aloha Deck meant no one was looking down onto your balcony. (We could see down on many others from ours.) Showers are small and I could see it being tough if you are a very large person. But everything was fine. Our cabin steward was helpful and personable.

Anchorage

Lots of good food and drink options in Anchorage. Didn't have much time there.
