This was my second cruise and the first one that I planned myself. I did a lot of research online before deciding to book directly with the cruise line. I chose the Glory because the ratings and reviews online were for the most part very good. I'm glad I did! Embarking was a little slow but it had more to do with a very long day that started at 2:00 am (we traveled the same day) and the excitement to start this awesome adventure.
By the time, we went aboard, our cabin was ready and were able to dropped our carry-ons. Our cabin had been upgraded to a balcony cabin and I was wonderful and just one level down from all the fun on the Lido deck. From that point on, we had a fantastic time! Our table in the dining room was all the way to the back by the windows. It was great to see the sun set every night and to see the moon rising (the moon was full the last nights at sea). Our wait staff was wonderful! They were friendly, funny and very efficient!
We saw the music shows every night. They were very good, but I particularly loved the Rock and the Divas ones. I highly recommend them!
Our cabin was comfortable and cleaned. The balcony was great! Our steward was very efficient and very nice! It was fairly closed to the elevators.
Arrived at Miami the same day of departure. The port was very busy, but the process was pretty smooth and efficient.
The ride was very nice. The tour guide was very knowledge and friendly. The island is not big at all but we stopped several timed for photo ops and had a chance to see the horses and the rays.
I was born in Puerto Rico and love San Juan. I played tour guide for my niece who had never visited. There is plenty to do just in Old San Juan! We visited El Morro and walked around to some of the smaller museums and the Cathedral. You'll find that just about everyone you'll meet speaks English. I also recommend taking a map with you.
