Quebec City was very charming, lots of interesting history, beautiful scenery. It was special sailing the St. Lawrence River, could see lights on shore at night. When we sailed into Saguenay were welcomed by the locals with a re-inactiment of their Heritage days, in period costumes, complete with a bonfire & an antigue vehicle. The locals were giving us directions for the Hop on Hop off tours which were extremely easy to follow. Upon sailaway there were hundreds on shore waiving good-bye. The people of the Atlantic provinces were wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. In Sydney the port was welcoming with the huge fiddle on the dock, loved the local beer Cape Breton ale & crab cakes. Hired a limo to tour Halifax, relaxed in a comfortable vehicle touring Dalhousie University, waterfront homes, Peggy's Cove and the unforgettable Memorial Swiss Air plane crash in 1998, tastefully in classy remembrance where tour buses are not allowed. RCMP did a send off with a small performance as we sailed away. When we docked in St. John, NB we were greeted by cruise ship volunteers in their sharp uniforms & a 3 sisters lamp lights souvenir pin. We had walking maps and walked the entire downtown. We were so impressed with the friendliness of the locals, stopping to ask if we needed anything. We were directed to a wonderful Billies Restaurant were we sat at on bar stools along with others from the ship. Enjoyed Pump House Brewery Moncton beers & lobster roll. The internet connections at the ship terminals were excellent, terminals was a good place for purchases. We booked a NYC shore excursion as our flight left late afternoon. Our tour was wasn't able to make all the stops, just a drive by, because of a parade and get us to the airport in time for the folks who had booked earlier flights.

The cruise ship was Princess' usual excellent service, most the time food was very good, entertainment fun, staff was very accommodating, as always. We had a balcony midship cabin, very comfortable & nice to watch the onshore activities from our balcony.

Cabin BD

We liked the location of this cabin as it faced the ports and it was fun watching as we approached the port. Interesting watching the passengers getting off the ship, even more entertaining watching the passengers board, tired & grumpy! The location of the cabin was convenient, few flights up to Horizon Court & an easy walk down to the activities, dining room & other venues. Cabin was adequately stocked, as always spotless clean (did my usual one did a finger wipe & under the bed check), balcony window & deck cleaned regularly. I've learned how to unpack and even to have space left in these compact spaces. I always bring extra hangers. Limited outlets for plug ins for hair stuff & charging electronic equipment & camera.

Port Reviews

Quebec City

We've been to Quebec City before so it was nice to see it again. Merci Beaucoup & Au Revior.

Gaspe

Did the Gaspe Hop on, hop off which was fun.

Sydney (Nova Scotia)

An excellent self guided walking tour. Have you ever seen parking meters set beside the buildings not on the street...it's all here & the beautiful buildings. The local beer is very good....and the crab cakes are to die for.

Halifax

Halifax cannot wait to get back to get to know more of you.

We rented a limo for a private tour and what a wonderful tour that was. Love the people, the scenery, and the history. So proud to be a Canadian.....

Saint John (New Brunswick)

We were greeted by cruise ship volunteers who hand excellent hand outs & with the wonderful Maritime hospitality, directing us as we wanted to do a walkabout, explaining our walking maps. Everywhere we went, people stopped to ask if they could help us....warm & sincere. Neatest market, next to Billies....amazing restaurant which is very busy when the ships are in so feel free to hop on a bar stool to enjoy the wonderful food...and a local beer.
