We had been on Silhouette before and Celebrity 6 times.
We had never been to the ports on this cruise although we had been to Amsterdam previously.
The cruise was great, the ports were interesting and in most places the ports were a train trip away from the city e.g. Dublin, Glasgow and Cork were typical. we also trained it from dover to Canterbury for the day. All were easy with Frequent services , even on Sunday.
Spacious, up to date, clean and very functional . Cabin staff are exceptional
Love Amsterdam, the tram system is great with passes available for easy and inexpensive travel. The Jordan area is wonderful
Cork on a sunday is pretty dead, but we took the bus to Blarney castle , it was beautiful
Lots of construction going on in the city and we took the hop on hop off bus, there is a price war going on between rival operators so its really cheap
Again hop on hop off bus . This is a surprisingly good place to visit. Lots of Beatles history of course, but an interesting couple of hours
Off to Glasgow by train [ its easy] then another hop on hop off bus and then a walk down Buchanan street with lots of buskers. Maybe we should have gone to Edinburgh but we enjoyed our day
We took the train to Rouen -- what a pleasant surprise, very historic in the city and on the seine. We had lunch in Pauls cafe with the locals, a great city to walk around with interesting markets and shops
We took the train to canterbury and visited the Cathedral .There is a shuttle in dover from the port to the town and a ten minute walk to the station , trains every 30 minutes to Canterbury
Took the local bus for an hour and half trip around the island - fabulous value
