This was our cruise of a lifetime. We decided to spend the extra $$$ and go for the deluxe balcony. I was extremely disappointed. We were on the 7th floor and instead of overlooking the water there was a blue deck under the balcony. It was okay if you looked straight out but not down. Also the lifeboats were just several rooms away.

The balcony table was in very poor shape. The top was not fastened and the tray almost flipped off. The legs of the table had the paint peeling off in strips. The telephone did not work and our Stewart said" oh well you don't need to call anyone" 2nd attempt at fixing the phone and still not working and Leslie said we just wanted a new phone. Finally 3rd call was to House Manager, Margaretha. Phone was fixed immediately, Also the clothes hook that was pulled from wall was reinstalled. Drapes were dirty and ripped. Day 2 we noticed a bobby pin on the floor in the bathroom. Neither me nor my partner wear these pins. Stayed on the bathroom floor for 3 days until we picked it up. Also found a bobby pin in the cabin. Again we picked it up and an old potato chip after 3 days. Room was never dusted or vacuumed..

The Solstice has 2 tiny outdoor pools, one with a wooden ladder to climb down. There was no bar service in the pool area. The one pool bar always had long lineups and usually only one attendant.
