I chose this cruise because of the ports. I had been on many Mediterranean cruises before. I like the itinerary and the price of this one. I was contacted as soon as we got to our assigned room to confirm that I would attend a ceremony to get my bronze madallian for cruising with HAL over 100 days. How ironic! My friend and I chose an inside room this time to save money. We were shocked to see how tiny the room was! Two of us could not fit, let alone our luggage! We asked if they could move us to a different room. We were told that they were full and many people were trying to upgrade as well. We ended up paying $700 to upgrade to a balcony room, which was exactly the size of what we used to get on other HAL ships. I DO NOT like the way Oosterdam nickeled and dimed us!

HAL charge so much for their tours and transportation. There was no way I would ever buy them! The dining room served pretty good food and the wait to get in as free style was not too bad. The shows were good enough for me to attend every night. My friend and I liked a group of young string musicians that we went to their show every night. It was very rare on a cruise!

Overall I was not happy with this cruise! I have taken over 40 cruises and this one ranked pretty low! I did my evaluation as soon as I received it online. I was told that I would get $200 credit next time I sail with HAL again. It will take A LOT for me to try them again!
