We originally wanted to cruise on the Koningsdam, but having read adverse reviews, and the fact that there are no chairs on the promenade deck, we chose this cruise because it called at ports we had not been to. When we booked the cruise, there was no choice of dining - we were given open seating.

Embarkation at Copenhagen was not well organised - there was no clear signage so it was not obvious that there was a seperate queue for 5 star mariners etc. Having checked in and got our room cards there was a wait to get on the ship because the passage way was so narrow there was no way of bypassing the photographers and therefore we had to wait until several passengers had their photos taken.

Once onboard things improved, the lunch in the dining room was good, we then went to the explorers lounge and changed our evening meal to 8pm, and by the time we got to our stateroom our luggage was there.
