Had another wonderful cruise with NCL, great places to visit, good food and entertainment. NCL are very informal but can get rather noisy at times and there are not always enough loungers available on days at sea.

However, I feel I must comment on the cabins (we always have an outside one with balcony). Compered to other cruise ships the cabins are smaller, have two separate cubicles for shower and toilet (plastic boxes with sliding doors) and 2 single beds which cannot be separated because there is no room. Because of the bathroom arrangement the sink is in the room (smaller than a washing-up bowl). It does have a sofa which is quite narrow and curved, not very comfortable for a child, I am sure an older child or teenager would find it very uncomfortable.

When we asked NCL about the cabins we were told that Epic is the only ship that has this conformation and they have not repeated it - I think that said it all!

Port Reviews

Cannes

Very easy to do Cannes on your own, good transport to Nice etc. Nice town, expensive, but worth seeing. Top tip - do not go when the Cannes Film Festival is on - manic!

Barcelona

Great city, easy to get around, lots to see. Use the underground - very good.

Naples

Went to Capri on our own, boat trip can be a bit choppy. Lovely town easy to get around.
