Wasn't as advertised....ports were not as expected. When given the introduction to the Viking river cruises online they made it seem that we would dock in the center of town (which most are based around the river) and we would walk off the boat. While this may have been the case in some instances it wasn't the case in most. Many times we needed to take a bus to visit the main sites. Also, due to the locks....68 in total on our trip...the amount of time was limited in some cases. The locks after one or two become a nuisance.....closeness of docking in town almost nonexistent. The food was 2nd grade. The meat was poor grade, tough and not prepared properly. The choices although regional could have been much better. Not a luxury trip....accommodations was decent (new ship which helped) but nothing like a higher end ocean cruise ...maybe there is a better line to try.
