The Prisendam is an old ship however its size (840 passagers) and cabin layout makes it perfect for long cruises and visiting certain ports where large ship cannot go. There are almost no children and passager are well traveled. Crew was very attentive to our needs. This South America and Antartica cruise was great. We had excellent weather in Antartica and we made all of our port calls. Only 2 rough days at sea. So it was an exceptional great cruise. For the Antartica portion of the cruise, they had a group of scientist giving lectures on Antartica (wildlife, living there, research project). The staff from Palmer station came on board to give us a presentation on life on the station. Saw whales and many penguins. Visited Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Chili, Argentina, Falkland Island, Brazil (including the Amazon all the way to Manaus), Devil island and Barbados. Got many checks on my bucket list.
