We went on the Navigator last year and decided to try the Liberty out of Galveston this year. We booked at the last minute at a good rate. Getting on the ship took an hour - we arrived at 11 and are Gold members. The people arriving with us on the shuttle who were first time RCL made it through in the same time we did. I think that speaks to the number of repeat passengers and the crowd in the Gold line.

The ship was clean and the service very nice. We were on my time dining but requested a set time, table for two the first night and had the same table the every night. I appreciate being able to switch to a set time. Service was great. The food was pretty good. I thought the portions were rather small, but that leaves room for dessert.

Our cabin was nice but we had poor neighbors. The group next to us was a large family traveling together and they opened up the dividers between their rooms. One mom was cursing out her young child at the top of her lungs before we had even left Galveston. Unfortunately, it didn't get much better after that and it led us to use our balcony less than we probably would have. Not RCL's fault that people are rude.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Stateroom attendant Richard was incredible. He introduced himself the first day and then we didn't see him except down the hall, for the entire week. The room was immaculate. He asked us the first day to use the "make up room" card to slip in the card entry when we left in the morning and as we went to dinner so that he would not disturb us. Easy system that worked very well. Our balcony was nice although too small for a lounge chair. A/C worked very well. There was noise in the morning and evening from the Lido above us. It was a bit annoying but not enough to be a huge issue.
