We wanted to get away from our winter in Toronto! We had a balcony (partially covered) deck 4 aft but was good as we did have some rough weather. QM2 is definitely the best ship to be on when seas get rough! Even some of the staff who had been on other ships admitted this to us! Food was good, especially the Indian and Italian that we paid a little extra for. They rotate the speciality eating every four days. They use a small area of the Buffett area and change the decor to match the food of the evening. Excellent. All our shore excursions were excellent and well organized. The ship was clean at all times.
Things to think about:- the ship is big and therefore cannot always moor in the designated cruise ship areas. They did always have transport to take you to your coaches or to the port gates. On this trip we were at anchor as some destinations as they could not accommodate us at the port. Some people complained about the amount of sea days! So please check the amount of sea days BEFORE you book your cruise! Plenty to do on sea days though so you won't find boredom an issue. We have cruised with Cunard on many occasions and really like them. Many formal nights on this cruise but you have a choice to participate or not. This trip was part of the world cruise, we flew back from Australian, if you don't like flying beware it's a long flight back to North America! Enjoy Cruisers!
