We were trying to combine two cities, Venice and Barcelona in one trip and also wanted to experience a large cruise ship. This cruise on the Equinox, embarking and disembarking in Barcelona, with an overnight in Venice, was the perfect combination of all those goals.

We had a veranda cabin, #1584, in AquaClass with a spa privileges on the 11th deck and it was a nice cabin. We never took advantage of the spa because we were too busy. We feared getting sea sick but only felt a teeny bit of motion once for just a short time. The cabin had lots of room, a snack, water and iced tea each day as well.

We had access to a special restaurant, Blu, and went there only once during the cruise. The food was good, but we preferred the casual environment of the buffet so went there for every other meal. We loved eating outside on the deck every time the weather permitted, which was most of the time.

Cabin Review

Aqua Class Balcony

Cabin A1

Cabin was great. Really had plenty of room, could move around easily, bathroom was fine, bed comfy, great balcony. Couch could have been more comfortable by being softer with a bit of a pitch angle to it instead of straight and very stiff. Loved the service we received each day with an afternoon snack and waters and iced tea. Location of cabin was good, too. No noise from above or below. View was great. Close enough to elevators and stairs. Good choice.

Port Reviews

Kotor

Our favorite port - both sailing in through the fjord, easily touring the village on our own after a shuttle ride in, and sailing out again. Lovely port. Should mention that the ship's crew were very efficient at disembarking and embarking lots of folks for these ports of call. 5 Stars, crew!

Venice

Sailing in to Venice with an Italian opera serenading us was absolutely breath-taking. We were on an upper deck so the view was spectacular. Will never forget that sail-in.

We went on our own to explore Venice after very good directions from crew. Beautiful city. Got lost. Who doesn't? The next day took the Secret Venice tour offered at that time. Great tour showing how the real Venetians live, get their mail, groceries and supplies, run their businesses, etc. Tour guide knew her way around. Good tour and worth the money.
