This was overall the best vacation I ever took. As the date became closer, I did become more nervous after reading some reviews of the ship and dining services. I could not believe how surprised I was that the ship and food both lived up to my expectations. I found the Crown to be very clean and comparable to the other ships that I've been on with Carnival although less tacky looking with colors. I enjoyed the Cafe Caribe buffet that had theme nights throughout the ship and was always less crowded than the main buffet. I think some people didn't walk the distance to see there was a whole other buffet. The anytime dining worked perfectly as we were always seated immediately. Really enjoyed the Magic to Do show and the London show. Had read early reviews and knew to be there early so we never missed a show and always got a good seat. Also, gave us time to look through the pictures that we took that day. Went to five cultural lectures on about Alaska and really enjoyed the learning part of the vacation. This ship is not a party cruise like the three others that I've been on and was a nice change of pace. Of course, the sites of Alaska and Glacier Bay were breathtaking.
First time ever having an interior cabin. Found it very comfortable for the short periods of time I was in the cabin. I understand how many reviews mention getting a balcony for this cruise, but the decks were easy to navigate during the entire cruise including while in Glacier Bay. Cabin was on deck 15 which is also where the pools and buffets are located. Really liked that location as it was only a matter of steps until we were outside on the open decks.
