We decided on a 2 week fly/cruise on Oceana having cruised previously on this ship and the ports of call were interesting.
The good points of the cruise were the ease of embarkation and disembarkation, service from dining, bar and cabin staff were excellent. This was our first time Freedom dining and we enjoyed the flexibility it gave us. The food menu in the main dining rooms was adequate without being particularly inspiring and generally the meat and fish were slightly over cooked. The beds in the cabin (A deck balcony)were comfortable and cabin generally tidy. The Plaza buffet dining was ok when you caught at time away from rush hour.
The above plus points were cancelled out by the general condition of the ship. Our toilet/shower cubicle flooded twice and only prompt action in summoning the cabin steward prevented a worse outcome. Both incidents required the services of the plumbers, however no explanation of the cause was given leaving us on tenterhooks each time the loo was flushed. No apology or explanation was forthcoming from P&O staff. Water drips from the ceiling in the A deck corridors were a regular occurrence.
Nice enough cabin, enough storage space.Spoiled by a noisy deck above at times and a toilet malfunction twice flooding the shower/toilet cubicle.
Ver hot and busy but an enjoyable wander. Used the people mover from the port to Grand canal, very cheap and easy.
A beautiful place, did a private tour of the bay in a small boat, not expensive.
Went ashore on foot, uncollected rubbish everywhere, disappointed.
Ashore by tender, liked the place and some day might like to see more of Corsica
Very industrial part of the port and not very inspiring
Very hot day and several ships docked so just had an amble round the port town of Gruz. Pleasant enough but not much to see.
