We chose The Magic as it went to ports we had never been to and Port Canaveral is close to home for us. We sailed The Breeze in 2014 and we loved her so with The Magic being a sister ship we expected about the same experience. Our traveling group was my husband and I (50), our 2 daughters 18 and 21 and daughters friend 23, and my Mom (72).

1. Port Caneveral is a great port to sail from. Easy to maneuver and no problems parking. We stayed at Comfort Inn the night before the cruise and received a 40% discount voucher to use for parking at the port. Total for parking was $68.00 using the voucher discount.

2. The ship is beautiful. The emerald green and turquoise colors are easy on the eyes. I preferred the colors on The Breeze a bit better, but overall The Magic was a close second.

Cabin 7C

Great cabin! No noise. No neighbors to the left. (Storage area) Midship, smooth ride!

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

We enjoyed relaxing at the pool and the music. We did not get a cabana but I would recommend getting one as they look so nice. A little pricey but they were already sold out. No big deal, we rented an umbrella for 15 bucks and we had a nice relaxing day.

Grand Turk

The beach here was not nice. The sand is more like crushed rocks. The rocks and seaweed in the beach were plentiful and the drop off is very deep right from the edge of the beach. Not good for little kids or anyone who is not a strong swimmer. All rafts/floats were already rented out for the day by 12:30. People constantly hustling on the beach for hair braiding, jet ski rentals, etc. I recommend setting up camp early at Margaritaville or leaving the Port area and walking down to Jacks Shack. I wish we would've but we were already hot and exhausted from dealing with the deep water, rocks, seaweed and pushy vendors. We went back to the ship.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

We did not take an excursion. We stayed at Comfort Inn and we shopped at Ron Johns and the other little shops there. The hotel was very nice and offered a really good free hot breakfast in the morning and a 40% discount for parking at Port Canaveral.
