We chose the ship as a destination rather than the Islands. The ship is HUGE...TOO HUGE. We had a cabin forward which I do NOT recommend. It is a long hike to activities which are mostly aft. All staff were pleasant and helpful. The ship has many features, but with 6,400 passengers it was crowded. We choose "anytime" dining which proved to be a disaster. When trying to book ahead only once was the reservations phone even answered. Our balcony cabin was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom shower was spacious for a ship. The ice show was the best show I've seen in over 30 cruises. Negative: music in all locations is LOUD and techno for the most part. Aimed at 20 somethings. Simply terrible. Drink prices are bordering on THEFT. $6.95 for a beer plus 18% service charge and the guts to ask for a tip! That works out to about $168 for a case of beer that costs less than $20. The food was plentiful but bland except for Indian dishes. Again we did not use specialty restaurants because of outrageous up charges. Steakhouse was $79pp plus service of 18%. We probably won't cruise Royal again.
