The primary reason we chose this cruise was convenience; we live in the Norfolk, VA area. Though the cruise got off to an auspicious start (the ship came in several hours late due to the Harborfest celebration at Town Point Park), it turned out to be excellent. The Sunshine has great amenities, the crew is superb, the food was varied and tasty, the atmosphere was friendly very festive. Fortunately for us, the weather also cooperated.

As for the excursion to Atlantis, it was a tab bit over priced. I believe we could have done better by taking a tour of Nassau. We also would have preferred to spend two days in Nassau vice going to Freeport.

We had so much fun that my wife and I are thinking of doing the very same cruise next year. Needless to say, we highly recommend cruising Carnival. The Sunshine is a fine capable ship.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Balcony stateroom is the only way to travel. The cabin was real close to the elevators.

Port Reviews

Freeport

Nothing more than shops and a couple of bars. Short stay. It took forever to get back on the ship; long line.
