This was our first cruise and we'd heard that Disney was the best. First of all, the ship was beautiful. Little touches like Disney music playing in the corridors really made it special. It only took a day or two to easily find our way around the ship. We loved how the TV in the stateroom showed Disney movies 24/7. The stateroom was roomy and we loved having the two half-baths rather than one bathroom. The service was wonderful. It's great how our stateroom was cleaned twice a day. Everyone on the ship was friendly and accommodating and it was really fun meeting people from all over the world.

Embarkation was smooth. We checked in online in advance and did not have to wait very long. Like most things Disney, a little research before you go really pays off with less hassle and less waiting. It was easy to get on and off the ship when we were at port. The food on the ship was fantastic. There was a lot of variety for everyone and plenty of healthy options for kids. Alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced for the most part, especially the drink of the day. Even the buffets had delicious and healthy options. With all the stair climbing and healthy choices I don't think any of us gained weight. The shows were pretty good - some were better than others but overall it was good quality entertainment.

The ship never felt crowded. Our son loved the kids' activities. He could have spent all day and all night in the club and lab. We booked our excursions through Disney so we might have spent a little more than if we had researched and booked them separately but it was worth it because it was so easy. We can't wait to go on another cruise soon!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin 09A

This cabin was in a great location: front of the ship, relatively high on the ship. The movie theater and kids' clubs are on the 5th level so it was convenient to check on the kids or catch a movie. There are not many cabins in this area so the hallways were never crowded with people and it was pretty quiet. One night we went to sleep early (9ish) and could hear sounds from the Theater below us, but it wasn't that loud and it was over by around 10. When we did attend shows at night in the main theater all we had to do was climb one flight of stairs and we were back to our room. The cabin is relatively close to the elevator but not close enough that you hear the elevators. There was some motion during rough seas but I can't compare it to how it was in other staterooms on the ship. I would book on this level again. It's quiet but not too far from anything.

Port Reviews

Skagway

We walked around for a while and ate a very overpriced lunch. There are lots of shops with mostly the same stuff. There was a good wine shop with reasonably priced wine that I took back to the ship.
