Just got off of a 4-day cruise from New York to St. Johns. When I got on the ship (it was my first time on Sunshine) I thought how beautiful it looked and how clean – very understated, but nice. Unfortunately, this was not my favorite Carnival cruise. Before I start with my complaints let me say that every person who worked on this cruise was friendly, helpful and personable. The casino staff especially was wonderful.

Boarding was a breeze. Guy’s burgers absolutely the best. The treadmills in the gym have "cyclevision" on them and were fantastic. Dalmacio at the seaday brunch as well as the brunch itself are excellent. Room service superb.

So now here’s why this was not my favorite cruise. Dining in the main dining room: 4 day cruise menu choices are not good. No lobster night, food choices blah. The pineapple sherbet which had always been my favorite changed about a year ago and is awful. The setup of the tables are individual tables (my mom and I were at a table for 2 – we were NOT at my time dining but at assigned seating) even though our table was next to other tables and we were able to talk to the wonderful ladies next to us each night, it did not have the feeling that the large round tables have of becoming a “family” with the other people at your table.

Very big and easy access for my mom who has a wheelchair. However, too much noise in the hallway by the elevator and this room is under the pasta bar so starting around 9:30 you hear the chairs being moved and a banging noise (think they are making pasta?) with a machine that goes for hours.
