We stayed overnight at the Sheraton Plantation. This is the only point in experience that I would not recommend. The hotel itself was nice, but way off of the beaten path, so much so that the bus driver got lost and what should have been a 15 minute ride took 45 minutes. Embarkation was easy as usual. Our cabin on Baja deck was as expected. We had ordered egg crates for our bed after reading that the beds on Grand were less then stellar. We had no issues, falling into bed after very busy days. The balcony cabin was nice although storage space was limited compared to the other ships we have been on. Our cabin steward Sherwin was adequate although not exceptional. He removed our trash can one evening and did not replace it until we asked and there where occasions when our ice bucket was neglected. We have never had any issues with the food on Princess and the Grand lived upto our expectations. The head waiter Manuel went out of his way to make sure we had everything that we needed including special ordering us escargots on 4 nights including French night. Our shore excursions were plentiful on this port intensive cruise and we were not disappointed with any. The best were the safari 4wd jeep tour in Aruba. De Palm tour company was great and our guide Junior was charming. We had fun going to out of the way places where we had not been able to go on our previous visits to Aruba. The Tiami 4 star catamaran in Barbados was the best time ever. We met wonderful fellow cruisers and the crew...what can I say? Mike, Shawn, Ross were so friendly, personable and helpful. We will take this excursion again if the chance presents itself. Other excursions were enjoyable. We toured a spice plantation and rum distillery in Grenada (the ship ported there instead of Trinidad) We thoroughly enjoyed our tour guide Norm and the free samples of island Rum. Our tour in La Romana was a river tour on a paddle boat and a tour of the Artisan village at alto de chavon. Beautiful grounds and beautiful costumed ladies and gents, lots of photo opps. Our tourguide had us call her mama and treated us like we were members of her family. Don't miss the peach on the beach at Margaritaville in Grand Turk. We find at this point after repeat sailing with Princess we are starting to re-cycle through performers. We only go to see the comedians and magic shows and we had seen 2 of the shows previously. The juggler that was billed as a variety act was fantastic and I had a blast acting as his assistant for part of the act. I even re-cycle massage therapists as Leandra who performed my seaweed wrap and massage (which was fantassssstic) also performed the same service for me on Coral Princess 2 years ago. :) The only area of disappointment was the casino on Grand. As you can see from my screen name I do enjoy a good casino. The one on the Grand no so much. The machines were old and tight and the Host Angelo not very hospitable. We have found that joining ocean players club is absolutely no benefit at all. I like the new cashless systems which I have experienced on past Princess cruises but alot of the older folks on the ship could not quite get a grasp. The casino staff spent alot of time explaining the system to folks. Angelos comment was that he was "tired of spoon feeding these people" For real? find another line of business, hospitality is not for you!!!

Cabin Review

b707, right accross from the laundry room and right under horizon court great perks. nice balcony...but on wrong side of the ship. Pick port side for this itinerary.
