  3. Norwegian Epic
We have been on many Norwegian Cruises in the Caribbean and have been on the Epic a few times. This is our first trip traveling as a Haven Guest. There were 4 of us in a 2 Bedroom Haven suite. We had a fantastic time, embarkation in Barcelona was easy. This European itinerary had people Embark in Barcelona, Roma and also Marseille, so only a little over half of the passengers start in Barcelona, which is a bit weird. Being a haven guest, we went to a small, very small room until they were ready to board and then the Concierge and Butler escorted us onto the ship and into the Haven. Since we had the drink package, we got a drink at the Haven Bar and they took a group of us to tour the Haven amenities and explained all the features and needs. You need to pay attention during the week to the times that Breakfast and Lunch are served in the Haven dining room because the times change slightly in the ports. Our room was great, we had one behind the elevators on the 16th floor, room 16031 which was convenient to the main Haven Bar and Haven dining room. I thought the layout of the rooms for the 4 people had was very good. Only downside of room was a small balcony, but we were hardly out there. We would go to the Haven Pool area or to VIBE when we wanted to be outside. The main Haven Bartender Thomas did a fantastic job, quickly new everyone's name and drink preferences. We made a point of always arriving everyday when Thomas opened the Bar around 5:30 pm and coming back later for the last call around 10:30 pm, it was nice to see the same people and talk about your day in a less crowded setting compared to the rest of the ship. The food in the Haven Dining room was as good or better than the specialty restaurants. We are Platinum members and get some free Specialty Restaurant Meals and we decided after 2 nights that it was better just to continue to eat at the Haven Dining room every night instead. With the Haven comes special treatment, they program 1 elevator to be a Haven Express elevator on Port days and you also get escorted in front of everyone on Tender lines during the Tender Ports. We had special seating in the shows as well which was nice because you did not have to go way in advance to get seats. The Priscilla show was interesting, entertaining but an interesting choice for a cruise ship. Burn the floor started slowly but was a good show. Having the Ultimate Drink package was very easy, never worried about what alcoholic drink you ordered, almost everything was included, but not Bottled water which is silly. Once or twice the bartender would tell you if something was more expensive and the cost would be like 3 dollars more for an ultra premium item, like Don Julio 1942. In Salerno, we went with Cant be Missed Tours to Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. Pompeii was very interesting and Sorrento beautiful In Livorno we went on a private tour to Pisa and Florence which both we great In Cannes, we took it easy, we just walked around town and had drinks at a Café In Marseille we did an eBike tour and had a great time. Marseille had a lot of traffic, so you have to be aware on the eBike when riding around town. For our next Norwegian trip that we have 4 people, I will look to the Haven again instead of Having 2 Balcony Rooms, the extra price was worth it for us.
