We sailed on the QM2 Remastered crossing from Southampton to New York. Our embarkation was slightly delayed (approx 1.5hrs) due to IT problems but you need to be realistic when 1000s of passengers are being processed and keep calm.

Walking onto the ship we were awed by her beautiful appearance following her £9 million refit. Her Grand Lobby smelt of new carpets and upholstery and fresh flowers. The sculpted decor on her walls as we walked to the lifts to reach Deck 5 were gorgeous. As we entered our cabin, I held my breath because I hoped it was as wonderful as I imagined, and it was... and more. Well-appointed, plenty of storage space, new carpets, and a lovely balcony where we stored our suitcases and still had plenty of room to sit out. The bathroom was immaculate, brightly-lit and also with plenty of storage space. The shower was a good size too.

After the muster practice, we went on deck to wave farewell to Southampton and although the weather was not pleasant, we spent at least 45-mins wandering around the outside decks before it started to pour down and she set sail.
