This was a cruise we wanted to go on as the itinerary was mostly what we wanted. We had an offer via Planet cruise which we booked last year. We had a balcony stateroom on deck 10 just forward of midship in Concierge class which is the same size stateroom just a few extras. Check in was reasonable along with our luggage delivery which was supposed to be priority being Concierge . But from our previous 16/17 cruises it was not any quicker. Lunch in the buffet was good. We then went back to our stateroom but our luggage had still not arrived. So we went and had a look around the ship. We had been on the Solstice in Australia / NZ in 2015 so the ships are very similar. When our luggage arrived we unpacked plenty of storage space and hangers we had a very good stateroom steward Ceril who was very good and all the extras I required were in place. The stateroom was kept clean and tidy and we had no issues with Ceril he checked with us most days at some point. The TV system is very slow and we had issues with the remote which required an engineer to come and reboot the whole system. Overall the ship is OK but starting to look a bit drab. For example in the dining room the chairs are very heavy and are fraying on the edges. They are a light coloured material which is starting to look grubby. The decor is drab or with very neutral in the colouring. The staff keep the place as clean as possible and are very friendly. We ate on the first sitting in the restaurant most nights. The service from the waiter and the wine waiter were excellent. But we noticed along with other guests that the food choice was limited compared to previous and not much choice of vegetables . We could have cream of cauliflower or potatoes or Yorkshire pudding. If the dish was served with veg it was only two or three pieces of carrot or a teaspoon of peas. I prefer to have more veg and I don't eat desert. The food we had was good the steaks were good the fish was alright it was not 5 star food. We have been with Celebrity on three previous occasions and I can say the Solstice was better this ship is not in the same class. The drinks service was good in all bars it could get busy at the end of shows etc which is normal. The entertainment was good and the entertainment team were very good. As good as all the other Celebrity ships we have been on. The cost of Wifi is a rip off. We sailed last year twice with Princess and each time we had a wifi package in the deal which was excellent . We also sailed with Ocenia cruise last year and we had free wifi. So as a 5***** ship this should be free not a rip off price. Our next cruise in August has unlimited wifi so they need to wake up. Shore excursions we carried out our research in advance and booked our two day trip with a separate company in Russia who arranged the visas. We were only 6 people in a 12 seater mini bus with a guide and driver. Because one of our party required a wheelchair most of the time we had a chair provided by the tour company along with a young man to push the chair. The company name in Russia was TJ travel. You can view them on here and on trip advisor they were excellent they could also arrange trips at other ports. We used the ships shuttle but these were also overpriced 20 dollar for a trip that was 1.5 mile. We did this twice and after we seen what we were getting we sorted our own transport. Again I would say for a 5***** line this should be included where other 5***** ships we have been on provided shuttles free. The coffee bar on deck 5 is a great place for coffee. Our package included the speciality coffee. This area is always busy but on the other side of this area is a bistro which has a cover charge and is usually empty unless crew are in .

This was a cruise we wanted to go on as the itinerary was mostly what we wanted.

We had an offer via Planet cruise which we booked last year.

We had a balcony stateroom on deck 10 just forward of midship in Concierge class which is the same size stateroom just a few extras.

  • Berlin
We took the train to Rostoc and had a lovely day we then came back to Rostock Wymunden and had a lovely evening.
We had looked at the Berlin trip it was to long and over priced.
We decided to go to Berlin by flying from Doncaster stayed three nights in a 4 star hotel for less than it cost for the 12 hour coach trip
My advise is do Berlin separate on a three day trip and go to Rosstoc on the train which is approx 20 mins

We picked this up outside the port gate .the bus dropped us off in the coach park near the centre of the city. It was raining on the day but we managed to have a good walk around the charge was 20euro each return. The bus ran every 30 mins and got us back to Brugge in time

  • Copenhagen
We enjoyed Copenhagen the only problem was we arrived in the afternoon and were leaving at 1130 am the next day.
We took the Red Bus be careful here as there are several our was run by Grey Line.
It was rubbish as we were on the berths on the outer harbour we were miles from the port where there was four other ships docked. What the Grey line bus company was doing was filling a double decker up take your money but this was really only a shuttle bus as when it came to the first stop which was the little mare maid everybody had to get off and get on the proper hop on hop off bus which had come from the city and from the other cruise ships in the city port. These buses were full so when people got off to take a quick photo they expected to be able to get back on and there were several arguments with lots of people waiting for buses. We eventually got to the Tivoli gardens which were good. But because the hop on hop off bus finished at 1800 hrs we had to leave early.
So be careful if you are on the outer dock.nifnyou are in the city walk and use public transport which is very good that's what we did the following morning.

  • Amber Room
Excellent trip it was one of the best trips we have done all over the world.
Everything was well organised. Small group no queue we always got in ahead of the rest of the other trips. The guide was excellent and gave us plenty of information. It was great as we had headsets and could ask questions and everybody could hear. The minibus was well appointed with seat belts bottled water and super fast wifi.

Excellent trip we arrived by Hydrofoil which was a different experience but we had a guide for two days including all tickets to the various palaces transport and a head sets including super fast wifi on our mini bus. The guide was with us for two days and took us around all the places as planned we jumped all the queues . They are an excellent company to use and they sort your Visa out for you and you don't pay until the second day of your trip.

The shuttle was rubbish I don't think the driver got out of second gear.
But getting around the town was very easy and we seen the old and new parts it can be very cobble street in the old part so wear good shoes or boots. Not much good if you are in a wheelchair or have difficulty walking. It's similar to York
