Hi, I know others have already talked about the newly refurbished Dawn. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of work that went into this and we liked the new look to the public areas and restaurants. In some places we compared the new look to that we have seen on Celebrity ships. Aqua looked pretty hip, while the Venetian looked good we were a bit puzzled by the artwork. We loved the new wine bar Cellars. This had a great feel / look to it and we enjoyed the wine tasting and Chris the Bartender was a delight.
We did not eat in any specialty dining but did eat at Bamboo one night. Overall the food was good but we found the wait for our food some nights to be a bit long. I think this is due to the freestyle dining. Anyway, I'm pretty laid back so I just rolled with it. Many folks were on the beverage package so getting drinks at times on the pool deck and other locations could involve a wait but I find that having a some tip cash on hand does a lot to get you recognized and served a bit quicker.
Our trip was uneventful, everything worked nothing bad happened and we enjoyed ourselves. We loved the new Photo area and found this to be fun to look at and put together our photo package. We did not shop in any shops on board so no comment there but they looked nice. We went to a couple shows and the Elements show was very good. We used the gym and the equipment is all brand new and that was a great place to work out in the morning. Getting on / off was no problem and overall I have to say we had a nice time.
Our room 9200 was a balcony room on deck 9. The room was perfect for our needs, and the refurbishment was clearly evident with the new bed / couch, and tv. Storage is very good and the only complaint would be lack of electrical outlets. I should have brought my adaptor but did bring a strip plug to handle the electronics, so it was all good.
