We are a married couple in our mid 50s with 25 + cruises. Embarkation - Smoothest we have ever had in 25 + cruises! We arrived at the port at 11:15. We found no lines and were immediately processed. As we finished the check-in process they announced they were ready to let people on. So up the elevator and onto the ship we went. From shuttle drop off to champagne in hand-15 minutes. Cabin - We were in Cabin # 1552 in Aqua class. We found to the room to be very comfortable. We loved the 32" TV and the large bathroom. The couch and bed were very comfortable in our opinion. Storage space was adequate. The extras provided in Aqua class were nice. We did not however like the daily ice tea. It tasted strange at times. The spa products were very nice. And we loved the Relaxation Room, one of the perks for Aqua class. One negative for this cabin was the noise from the deck above. We could hear running and chairs being moved late at night and very early in the morning. Dining - We ate in the Blu restaurant every chance we had. Our waiter and assistant ( Fizzi and Mansur) were the best we have had. The food was wonderful and the portions (IMHO) were very good. That alone will bring us back to Aqua class. We did have room service twice. The food arrived on time and hot. The OceanView Cafe was well laid out and food was plentiful and varied. Public areas - We liked the Solstice very much. It quickly became our favorite ship. We felt the public areas were very well appointed and never felt crowded. We especially liked the Sunset bar and the Oceanview bar at the back of the ship. We found these areas to be very nice for late night meetings. Entertainment - We enjoyed the Solstice show very much. I never seen anything like it on a ship. Very unique. We loved the comedian and the xylophone player. The other entertainment around the ship was also good, especially the Oceans 4 quartet. We tried to make as many of their performances as possible. The Corning Museum Hot Glass Show was wonderful. We saw this show several times and it was just unbelievable what they could do with the molten glass. The view into the reheating chamber was great. We would have liked to have won one of the raffles but our luck wasn't with us! We did the Around the World wine tasting and found it to be mass confusion. Too many people in too small an area. Ports : San Juan- We walked around in Old San Juan and shopped. St. Kitts - We did the Plantation - Off the Beaten Path shore excursion with the ship. Extremely well done tour by Gregg's Safaris. Our driver, Joseph, was great as was Gregg and Damon. We had a great time and learned a lot about the island and it's sugar cane heritage. St. Maarten - We've been there several times so had nothing planned. We used it as an extra sea day. Infirmary: This is one area that I do not see mentioned in most reviews. Due to an accident on a slick floor I was to meet all of the Doctors and Nurses. Simply stated, they were wonderful. They were very thorough and professional. My wife, who is an RN, was very satisfied at the level of care that I received. They appeared to be equipped to handle everything short of surgery. Overall - This was nearly the perfect cruise. We found the ship to exceed all of our expectations in every area. The Solstice has a very calming atmosphere. This ship quickly became our very favorite ship to be on. I can't wait to sail on her again.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 1

Cabin A1

Very nice cabin. It has a partially obstructed view with window washing equipment hanging in front of the next cabin. Noise from deck above late at night and early in the morning.
