It seemed to take time for things to warm up on the ship (atmosphere wise) but did improve and we met some great people.
This was our 4th trip now with P&O and whilst we enjoyed it we didn't seem to get the same feeling as we did on the others (e.g. Ventura, Oceana and the lovely Britannia).
The port stops were brilliant and Tallin, Stockholm and Oslo were our favourites and we could understand why people do this trip more than once and definitely would love to do this one again. St Petersburg was also great and only ventured on Excursions which were OK. The first day we went to St Catherine's Palace which was beautiful and we were lucky with the weather and didn't have to queue and it was not that busy. As usual you could always do with more time on these excursions but this was worth it. The first night we went to the Folklore show and this was first class. We were not expecting the Russian solder singers but they were first class and the dancing was amazing. A lovely building and a most enjoyable evening. The second morning we went to St Peter Hof Palace which was much busier and you were herded through the rooms quickly but our guide stood her ground and got us through at her pace so she could tell us everything. The wind was strong and we were the last lot to get into the hydofoil as the wind was too strong to get people on and off but I must say that once on it was fine.
Cabin was clean, tidy and everything you needed. Nice to have the additional bits in the fridge etc. if required.
We really enjoyed Oslo and although there was a lot of building go on at the port front there was some amazing new buildings going on. Would love to go back in a couple of years to see it finished as it is going to be quite spectacular I should imagine. Really enjoyed this port and again friendly people and worth going back.
We were most pleasantly surprised at this port f call and what an amazing beech in Bleckinburg. The town was lovely and we found a lovely place to have some waffles and coffee. The cake and sweets shops were amazing. Definitely worth a visit.
This is such a delightful place. Very pretty, little town with a great market square with lots of stalls to buy things. I wish I had bought more there than I did but was very pleased with my purchases. There is a stage in the square and they had different groups playing music and was just delightful. Enjoyed a lovely coffee in the square watching people going buy and listening to the music. Really enjoyed Tallin and would be happy to go back. Also better to buy things in the first 3 stops as items got much more expensive.
Quite a big town to get around but people very helpful and friendly. It was about a 30 minute walk to see the Little Mermaid which was a bit disappointing when you got there. Obviously lots of sightseers and a couple of stalls selling bits. Then had to walk 30 minutes back and it was very hot and sunny. Not sure it was worth the 30 min walk to be quite honest.
We loved Stockholm and lots to see and said we would love to go back and stay for a few days to see more. Highly recommend it.
This is also a delightful place to visit. Lots to buy at the market and again wish I had purchased more with things I have never seen before. Quality of the t-shirts are good too.
