Cabin: Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

We went on this cruise with family and friends and hoped to have the trip of a lifetime. It turned into the worse cruise we have ever been on. I will add that Alaska was truly magnificent and we will go back but it won't be on Royal Caribbean. Visiting Alaska is the only reason this review is not terrible.

The cruise started out extremely well, so well on the 3rd day my wife and I booked another cruise for January 2017. We booked a family suite for 6 of us to go to Mexico. When we received the confirmation package in our stateroom they had booked us on the wrong cruise. When we tried to correct it the rep who booked it wasn't around and they could no longer give us the Family Suite which we had reserved. So we are cancelling that cruise.

There was no communication among the staff. Please read the cabin review. We had major issues with our cabin which are discussed there.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

3 days into the cruise we had water leaking into our stateroom closet which got all over our clothes. The carpet outside the closet splashed when you stepped on it. It took 3 days and us complaining about the smell before the staff decided to move us out of the stateroom. We had to move our stuff on the last day of the cruise and missed getting into Victoria until afternoon. When we got to the new stateroom the attendant said she had expected us "several days ago". No one told us! Although guest services said they left a voicemail on the phone. We receive no message and talked to our stateroom attendant several times a day about the issue and no one told him we were supposed to move. The only compensation we were given was a bar bottle (cheap) of champagne and an offer of a discount on our next cruise. As I said before, We had already booked a cruise and when we got the itinerary it was for the wrong cruise. So we are cancelling that cruise so the discount really doesn't matter. Therefore we were not compensated at all.

Port Reviews

Seattle

Seattle is a great city to visit and explore. We arrive a few days early and explored. Loved the many great restaurants as well as the space needle, pikes place market, and the museums.

Juneau

Enjoyed the gondola ride up Mt Roberts to overlook Juneau.

Skagway

Shopped and bar hopped around all of Skagway. Went to the gold rush cemetery and gold rush museum. The train ride was clouded in on the day we were there but other passengers said it was ok. They said it would have been spectacular on a clear day.

Victoria

Hired a driver and a van to give us a tour of Victoria. Cheaper than the tours offered by the cruise line. Only had half a day due to issues on the ship but still had a great time.
