This was our second Oceania cruise, having sailed on the Marina on a Baltic cruise last year. The Riviera is a carbon copy of the Marina in floor plan and every bit as beautiful. We chose cabin 9050 (which is the A3 Concierge level) and it was close to the elevator. Noise was not a factor and we would choose this cabin again. The Concierge level gives you access to the Concierge lounge (around the clock coffee, tea, snacks, television and computers) and to laundry facilities which allowed us to reduce our suitcases by 50% this year.
Our cruise was named 'Glamorous Riviera' and was 10 days, Rome to Rome via Florence, Portofino, Monte Carlo, St. Tropez, Marseilles, France; Barcelona, Ibiza, a day at sea and Amalfi. It was perfect. Part of our package was four free shore excursions. Here is a breakdown of our shore excursions and visits:
Florence and Pisa - the ship docks at Livorno, which requires a 2.5 hour drive to Florence. We chose this as one of our 4 Oceania excursions (LRN04). We had only approximately 4 hours in Florence which was not enough time to really explore Florence. We visited the Duomo - Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore and it's interior, the Basilica di Santa Croce and Palazzo Vecchio. It would have been nice to have been able to view some of the art in the Uffizi Galleria and the Accademia Gallery but time did not afford.
