We boarded the ship Norwegian Sky at the Port of Miami shortly after noon on Friday and went straight to one of the dining rooms. What we liked about this this particular cruise was the open, all-inclusive dining and beverage plan. The last cruse we took had a fixed time and location for dinner every day and we sat at the same table with the same people. This cruise was more like a shopping mall where you could just walk into most of the buffets or dining rooms without an appointment or assigned table. So we ate whenever and wherever we wanted and as much as we wanted.
For lunch the first day we couldn’t make up our mind about which dessert to get so the waiter brought us his favorite three to try. For dinner one night I couldn’t make up my mind which entrée to get so he brought me both. It was like that. Anything you wanted, as much as you wanted. All included in the price.
The room was small but adequate with a large, unobscured window. We were in room 8053 (Viking Deck) which is the deck immediately above the life boats. We did not hear any noise from above or below us during the cruise but occasionally heard people in the hallway if there were talking loudly. It worked like a hotel. Every day when we came back to our room the bed was made and the linens refreshed. Saturday night in anticipation of our anniversary the next day our cabin steward had made two swans kissing out of towels and covered the bed in rose petals. There were special touches like that throughout the cruise.
