Sail Date: May 2016
Cabin: Royal Suite

We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Royal Suite for this 8-day cruise so most everything was included - all specialty restaurants, Café Al Bacio Gelateria, and the premium drink package, which was very nice. We ate at the new Tuscan Grill 5 of our 8 nights since it had such fabulously delicious food and we couldn't stay away! The filet mignon is the best thing on the menu - each time we ordered, it was done to perfection, which is really saying something since I like my steak medium well. It was just right with just a hint of pink. Our server, Zoran C, and sommelier, Toto, made our evenings at the Tuscan very special with their friendliness, courtesy, professionalism, and smiling faces. The dinner at Qsine was great as always, and our dinner in Blu with Staff Captain Pierre was wonderful as well. From our sailing on the Millenium in August of 2013, the quality of the food and service has improved a thousand percent, and we were very happy with it on our first-ever cruise back then.

Back to the suite, the bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept on. Michael, our room attendant, saw to every detail and kept the area clean at all times. Only thing I missed was a towel animal on the bed every evening!

Our Butler, Sebastian, was great! He saw to our every need and pleasantly served a great dinner in our suite one evening along with several breakfasts as well. We got to know him well and felt like family, which is exactly what we enjoy when we cruise.

Royal Suite

Cabin RS

It had just been partly renovated and was very nice. The bed was super comfortable! Wish it would have fit into our suitcases! Lots of storage space! The dining room table and chairs though, were disappointing in that they were huge, heavy, and difficult to get comfortable at. The table has massive leg supports that are always in the way when you fight to pull in your chair. The sofa bench by the dining room table is sort of a waste of space as it is not user friendly, has no back support, and doesn't seem to fit in with any of the rest of the room. Would prefer the L-shaped sofa like they used to have in these suites. The shower in the bathroom beats the Celebrity Suite tub hands down as both the shower and separate tub in the Royal are easy to get into as opposed to the very high tub in the Celebrity Suite. Very nice spacious bathroom overall.

Vancouver

We did not take any tours in Vancouver!

Ketchikan

We ate dungeoness crab at a local restaurant and loved it! Amazing scenery and delicious crab!

Skagway

We took the trolley into town and looked around at the many stores and had fun shopping especially at the Russian store. The dolls and eggs are gorgeous and we had to get a few of each!
