I thought it was a 14-day cruise! We didn't want to leave.

Traveled with children

My wife and I both were lucky enough to cruise as children and later as a young married couple prior to having children. We have sailed on Sitmar, RCI, NCL, and Princess, but our last two cruises were on the Norway in 1991 (which we loved) and an Alaska trip on the crown Princess in 1995 so we had no idea what to expect after 14 years of growth in the industry.

We decided to get to Puerto Rico the night before and stayed at the Courtyard Isla Vista. It was perfect as a stopover. We received excellent service and it sat right on a beautiful beach. It was quite nice to wake up and go to the beach before we set out for the ship. At this point the kids had no idea what to expect from a cruise.

Embarkation: The Taxi was a fixed fare and embarkation was a breeze. We arrived a bit early at 1PM. We checked in as suite guests but it looked no more difficult for non-suite guests and we were on-board literally in minutes.

Cabin Review

Cabin FS

8668 is a royal family suite. We loved it. It was simple...not extravagant but that just made it that much more comfortable. It has two completely separate inside bedrooms which makes for great privacy but there are no windows in the rooms. It has two separate bathrooms which was great for our family. The kids never needed to use our bathroom and vice versa. We loved the fact that our large balcony faced directly off the back of the ship. Very peaceful and mesmerizing to stare out the back and wind was never a problem during sailing.
