My son and I took this cruise a couple of years ago and had a great time. We wanted to share the experience with my husband. Bermuda is a great port, and is easy to get around. Horseshoe Bay is a bus ride or $7 shuttle ride away, there are ferries to get people easily to Hamilton and St. George's, and there is even a free ride to get you from the ship to the shops at the Dockyards, for those with limited mobility. The people are so nice and welcoming, and we had great conversations with locals both trips.
We booked two rooms on a discounted price, and one ended up being on Deck 9, one on Deck 3. The cabin on Deck 9 was considerably smaller than the other and rather cramped, and unfortunately was the room two of us were booked into. Other than the room size issue, the cruise started well, with the captain going up the Hudson a bit so we could see the Statue of Liberty. That was a nice touch.
However, it soon became apparent that this crew was either short-handed or very inexperienced. All the basics were handled - the room was clean, service in the dining room was good - but we saw so many crew members looking as though they were "toughing it out" rather than enjoying themselves, and often seemed rushed.
We spent two nights in NYC prior to the cruise, but did so independently. Embarkation and disembarkation were both very smooth and well organized. Minimal waiting time.
Bermuda is very easy to navigate, so we took buses, ferries, and shuttles on our own.
