Sail Date: Jun 2016

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. Santorini, Bodrum, Syros, Chania and Kefalonia.

We have cruised with Thomson since 2003 and been on 14 cruises on all of thier ships. We had been on the Dream in 2013 and we enjoyed our cruise around the Med. However this time we noticed a few differences that have degraded the Thomson cruise experience. On entering our cabin my wife noticed that the floor had not been vacuumed as there was even a clothes tag and general fluff and dirt. A long dark hair on one of the cups, not a good start. We noticed that the brass stair banisters where not polished as was normal in the past. It took to day three before we saw someone polishing them. We noticed that there was less staff than in the past. Taken off to man the new ship?

On nights one and three the menu in the Orion restaurant was very disappointing unless you ordered a steak or lamb cutlets at £10 extra. We felt that passengers are being steered towards their ala carte dining restaurants at £20 each. Not the case in 2003 when the menus where something to look forward to each night. Only once where we offered tea or coffee after our meal in the Orion restaurant. It used to be all part of the dining experience. We think that the ship is so under staffed that the waiters must be wanted on the bars.
