We sailed before on the Britannia in June 2015, and whilst the food, the crew & the shows were excellent, we really did not like the layout of the ship, the ship has no 'heart', plenty of things going on, but all over the place, the Atrium?!! Sorry but it looks like a lounge in an upmarket residential care home!!! Even the staircase leads away from it into a wide corridor & to the Reception!
HOWEVER, my wife so wanted to go on a Strictly Come Dancing themed cruise that we booked this Canaries cruise!! To say we were disappointed is an under-statement!! ONE Strictly Come Dancing show ONLY!! This was by ticket allocation, which I totally agree with, considering the size of the ship & the theatre, the dancing was superb, but where were the other 'Strictly' shows? There were none!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were several "An Audience With --------" shows, but sorry, we wanted to see the dancing, not listening to a question & answer session, the information about these stars is readily available elsewhere, we don't want to sit there listening to it over again!!!
The Headliners Theatre Group were, as before excellent. It was just a pity that they were the SAME shows that we saw 12 months ago!!!! No points for that one!
A nice place to visit
Arrecife is NOT a tourist attraction!
Average, what is the point of docking on a Sunday? Spain observes Sunday Closures except for 'tourist' shops!!
Could not see the point of stopping here unless going on expensive excursions to Santiago De Compostela or similar.
Could have done with the overnight here instead of Madeira! Not enough time allowed to explore properly.
