My husband and I and another couple just returned from a cruise from Chalone sur Saone to Nice on the Sapphire. This was our first on Scenic but we had cruised with Viking once. This was our friends first river cruise. Due to the high water level our itinerary was disrupted thru no fault of the cruise company.

This was supposed to be a luxury cruise! Where to start! The rooms were small as the sun balcony interfered with the width of the room. The bathroom was not as big as was advertised and did not have " flashing lights ". We had to leave the remains of the first bar of soap on the bathroom floor before we got a replacement but otherwise the room was very clean . We could have asked for one but people should be trained to observe what is needed . This is a luxury cruise!

The food was average. The portions were so small that 3 bites of a salad and it was gone. There should have been more French dishes and more fresh fruit from the area . The wine was fantastic so we should have had the food to go with it. Read more
