Chose this as part of the Princess package with Alaska cruise for Inside Passage and land tour to Denali and Fairbanks. I've only cruised once before, but my friend has been on more than two dozen cruises - mostly with Holland America. We left out of Vancouver. Embarkation was long but fairly well organized. Accommodations were excellent. We had a mini-suite with a terrace. Highly recommend this for the Alaska cruise since the scenery is spectacular and the captain will do his best to get up close to the glaciers and other sights. All the employees were polite and service was efficient. There were numerous activities on the ship including narrations by park rangers who came on board when we arrived at the glaciers. Other entertainment and activities were enjoyable. The food was good and certainly lots of it, but it wasn't exceptional in any way. Excursions in Ketchikan, Juneau and Scagway were very good and tour guides knowledgeable. Disembarkation in Whittier ran smoothly. Train to Denali was about four hours too long (total of almost nine hours) and unfortunately, our guide felt it necessary to talk for nearly the entire trip. No brochures were distributed by the other Princess rep on the train to explain Denali excursions and Princess Lodge accommodations. Instead she spoke to each passenger individually which took an inordinate amount of time and was quite confusing without any brochure to reference. Denali was excellent. Fairbanks was more like an afterthought, but river boat cruise and panning gold was fun. Flew out of Fairbanks to Seattle and then home to NY.
