Ports of call offered Greece and Turkey. We had previously sailed on the Thomson Island Escape 2 years ago, and the Dream offered a ship which had improved on all of the bits I wasn't happy about last time. Bigger ship with 2 pools; more lounges; more forms of entertainment each evening; waiters serving meals; a larger theatre; bingo games inside instead of at the pool; a Gala Dinner, etc.
Having already done a Thomsons Cruise, this time we were more switched on and aware. We were able to find sunloungers earlier on the day at sea. Going into the theatre earlier to get a good seat. Going to dinner at 7.00 pm in order to get to watch the entertainment.
We loved the fun throughout the afternoon at the adults pool. Then we used to go to the back of the ship to watch the sailaway each night. And at the back of the ship the casino kept my husband busy while I enjoyed a singer and watched the sunset.
The runway and tiny airport is an experience. Corfu island very green and completely different to dry Crete the next stop. The buildings were beautiful, but shabby and neglected. Narrow streets selling olive oil items, sponges, leather. 10E taxi from ship into town. Quite a long walk.
Tender to shore. Short walk around the small very pretty town and to the windmills. Then we swam in the sea.
