Second sailing on "O" cruises first on the Marina , previously cruised only Regent SSC (Gold Society Members). Our first cruise was first class - beautiful ship - good size veranda cabins - attentive staff in all area of this ship, excellent food and choice of restaurants. We decided to cruise "O" again and after reading the marketing blurb that the Sirena was the ship and itinerary for us. Ship Ok - could not see $40 million refurbishment - we booked a concierge A1 cabin - I wouldn't again on the Sirena as the "Extra's" were not worth the addition money e.g. No Concierge lounge , and a very small area for use outside of the spa which was packed solid. Small cabin made worse by the king size bed - balcony acceptable with it's table and chairs - the bathroom was small - the shower was smaller with a draw curtain that just about contains you ( about the size of a mobile home ! ) an we are not big people,. Ok , so you don't spend all you time in the bathroom , but this supposed to be a luxury ship ! Food in all restaurants was excellent - service first class and attentive - breakfast buffet staff could be a little more friendly behind the counters ( various nationalities in training I guess - so benefit of the doubt etc.) Lounges fine - "O" have tried hard, all are comfortable and well furnished to a high standard, The Martini bar, however, is squeezed in between the casino and the piano bar , not much room to sit at the bar and enjoy it , compared to the Marina, it's not a very inspiring venue for pre dinner drinks. That said the cocktail bartenders were first-class act's and well worth a mention ! Show time - on board time tried their best - we never expect west end at sea - so ok and entertaining - special guest act's were both brilliant !!!!! Piano bar singer pianist was exceptional as were the Sirena orchestra and string quartet . All in all this review may sound critical to some readers - not intentional - We are sold on "O" but not the Sirena.
