We are in our mid 60's and are not interested in noisy entertainment ship life. Travelled around Yukon and Alaska with HAL then returned to Vancouver on Noordam. Boarding at Seward very quick, with just the security check. Ship is beginning to show its 10 years old but not a real negative yet. We had used HAL about 10 years ago (Volendam - about 900 passengers) and found Noordam too large. All dining was had in Lido Bistro as we are not the dinner dress up types, but you had to be early to get table with view. Service was good, however food was generally too sweat for our Australian tastes. Wife spent most nights in piano bar as it catered for music from 50's through to current. We found the service by cabin staff very good as they kept our cabin (6039) very clean and remembered how the wife liked her bed made each day (not tucked in, and like a tidy disaster area) and bistro staff possibly over attentive at times. Over all we had a good stay on the Noordam and I only have one minor whine, that was the A$1 per minute for casual WiFi usage (plans were available from US$50 for 100 minutes) so I used free WiFi available in at coffee lounges at each port of call. Disembarkation at Vancouver was well planned and coordinated with priority going to those who needed to meet other transport. We waited about 2 hours mainly in cabin and bistro.
