Sail Date: May 2016
Cabin: Large Ocean View Stateroom

We have sailed out of Venice a few times before but we still spent time looking at sights along the grand canal. Embarkation was fast and very smooth, especially since the last one out of Bayonne was the worst we have ever experienced. It was very easy to walk to the port. Also easy to get on the People Mover to near the port and walk last bit. On departure we just walked back to the bus station and it just took ten minutes.

The ship is an older one and smaller than others we have been on in the Royal Caribbean Fleet, however it was great. The Captain was one of the best we have had and loved spend ing time with passengers and even entertaining them. The staff were all great and so friendly and helpful. Entertainment was good though I am not a great fan of contortionists, the singers and dancers and most guest artists were worth seeing. We also really enjoyed the aerial show in the centrum.

The Ports of call were interesting and we mostly did our own thing and walked around discovering things for ourselves. Ports of call were Kotor, Athens, Mykonos, Corfu and Argostoli. In Argostoli we did ship excursion to Melissini Lake and it was better than we expected but did not give us long to do anything in the town itself.

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin G

Not the largest we have had on an RCCL ship but layout was quite serviceable. The one thing I missed was a fridge which we have had on most other ships. However we survived and had a most enjoyable time.

Port Reviews

Venice

always a fun place to explore and get lost in the narrow lanes and bridges.

Kotor

Easy to do on your own. The town is small so easy to explore. The walk up to the old fort is well worth it. Many people only go half way as far as the church but this gives a great view over the area.

Corfu

Very busy but lots of pedestrian places to explore. Lots of small shops and narrow lanes to walk around.

Athens (Piraeus)

We have been to Athens before so this time decided to explore the town of Piraeus. So we hopped on the little train and went into town on it and walked the old port and saw some lovely churches.

Mykonos

part of the pleasure is making your way to the windmills through the lovely clean lanes. The lovely white and blue houses are just like postcards. The water is clean and inviting though a little cold for us in May
