This review will be long, and I won't be covering the ports of call as I think there is more pertinent information readers need to know,
The 'pros' for this ship is the dining room food was quite good. The service was hit and miss, but the food was decent. Unfortunately, that is the only good thing we found.
How could one ship be so terrible in so many respects? We started with low expectations for this cruise because we had done a short repositioning cruise on the Star a month earlier, and realized the condition of the staterooms was the worst we'd ever seen. Door knob missing from the closet door, the vanity drawer was broken and wouldn't close properly, the hair dryer didn't work, the toilet worked sometimes, and the carpet was in appalling condition.
The cabins in general are very run down. Ours was not properly cleaned which made it even worse. The location of the cabin was fine, and we didn't notice any noise. However, I saw a twin comforter in a bag under our bed that clearly had a pee stain on it, so I'd check the comforter and pillows before sleeping in a twin bed set-up, The toilet wouldn't always flush and the shower was atrocious (small, dark, cheap shampoo, etc.), but that is standard on Princess ships unless you're in a mini suite or above.
