Our third Uniworld river cruise, following four Seabourn ocean voyages and the quality of the experiences is comparably high. Seabourn has an edge on dining, understandably so, given the size of ship kitchen facilities. Service and crew friendliness, however, are on an excellent par. Importantly, this includes Captains who are hands-on, readily accessible and determined to deliver the shipboard experience their companies promise.

This Uniworld cruise was from Antwerp to Amsterdam, following by mere weeks the tragic events in Brussels. The ship sailed with approximately 75% of guests, surprisingly high in light of travel arrangements made difficult by the closing of BRX. Uniworld crew and locals along the Belgium - Netherlands route seemed to very much appreciate the efforts and moral support of those who made the trip.

The Maria Theresa is a floating Versailles, with mirrors (upon mirrors) everywhere. Cabins are ample and, like all ship spaces, extraordinarily clean. Dining choices were more than adequate, with several meals being gourmet quality. Needless to say, cocktails, wines and beers were in abundance.
