This was our 14th cruise on Carnival on by far it was the best, the crew very nice very polite. We took family with and this was their first cruise ever, and from the looks on the faces they had a good time. As for the wife and myself our second time out of New Orleans (2013 The Conquest). Once again we took the City of New Orleans from Chicago and if you have the time the train is the way to go. My wife is Handicap so we had a wheel chair for her and although we did not have a handicap cabin in hindsight we should have booked one, the step up into the bathroom was a challenge for her to navigate through. If for some reason you should need help IE: lifting assistance DO NOT CALL 911 they will charge you on the ship, thankful our family was there to help. The Triumph is 17 years young and she does show her age in small spots, but overall she is still a beautiful ship, and there is no signs of her previous problems ANYWHERE to be found. The crew and Carnival, should I feel do a better job at separating the pools one for adults and one for kids, I know it is summer, and kids are everywhere but some of just like to sit sun and soak, and not get splashed by kids JUMPING into the pools very annoying. The food first we had to correct our dinner reservation because our PVP put half the group in separate dining rooms so we talked to Elvis the maître D and everything was fixed just fine, I need a new PVP. So the food in The Paris was outstanding again our wait staff spot one and, no table cloths NO DEAL BREAKER for us food was always hot and tasty. The Lido deck Guys Burgers tune down the spices on the fries a bit to much The Blue Iguana food could have be hotter both times there almost cold, the deli spot on sandwich's tasty, the main area was good nice choices. Now for THE PIZZA......SKIP IT I can say this part Carnival has let slip and in a BAD WAY it was by far the worst and it's not worth the time to go there.

The stops were Cozumel no excursions for us we have been here 3 times and, so we just walked the port area shop people can get pushy. Progresso/Merida this was the same just walked the port area to get into the town of Progresso it is a seven mile drive down the pier and Merida is over 30 minutes away are second time here and if memory serves me well Progresso is a little run down. The embarkation confusing, when you walk in you go clear across the terminal to check in and , then they wanted us to go back through A CROWD with a wheel chair to a room for special assist or try and get down a row of people sitting on the floor along the windows, this is needs to be addressed, like I said try pushing a wheel chair through this mess NOT FUN. Debarkation a smooth and effort less the only problem was people not ready at customs IE: spilling stuff paperwork not ready and general unsure what to do. This can't be helped a lot of new cruisers on this trip. Overall I would give this trip a 8+ for value and service and ship cleanliness .

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8C

A typical cabin for The Carnival fleet but very cold much to my liking we were on The Starboard side towards the rear of the mid section 4 cabins from the Aft elevators which is pretty convenient to go to the lido deck or The Paris dining room on deck 3 which is where we dined at the cabin has a flat screen TV and a room safe the bathroom is a pink/orange color different from other ships which are blue BUT like I said it is a cold cabin and no controls to moderate it.
