I have traveled extensively, but this was my FIRST CRUISE. Norwegian Sun EXCEEDED my low expectations.

Overall, our experience was a very good one. We could have complained that our luggage arrived at the room separately, the AC didn't function to full capacity and the area near the show room sometimes smelled. But we didn't, there was no need. Putting things in perspective, it didn't really impact the GOOD TIME we had on the ship and the ports of call we visited. The one thing we did complain about (loud noises coming from the bar area above our room after closing time), was IMMEDIATELY AND APPROPRIATELY addressed. In fact, we received a complimentary gift for the inconvenience and a followup call to ensure the matter had been resolved. In our book that is GREAT GUEST SERVICES, which you don't often find.

*We did experience a little wait to get on the boat, however, not any different from waiting to get on the plane. Getting off was much quicker. We carried our own luggage off and it was a breeze. For people who want to sleep in on the day of disembarkation, forget about it. People are expected to be out of their rooms by 8:30 a.m. Breakfast starts at 6 a.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. Not a problem for us. TIP: if flying out later in the day from Vancouver, make arrangements to tour the city so you aren't sitting at the airport. Read more
