I was apprehensive about our 1st cruise as reviews were mixed. But I have learnt that people are very quick to criticise and slow to praise. The Thomson Majesty exceeded my hopes and we had a fantastic holiday. I am now a cruise convert.

Ignore the whiners and complainers - I feel they are nit picking and need to spend a lot more to go with another cruise company. Our cruise ship was clean, staff were very friendly and hard working, excursions were superbly organised, entertainment was good but if you wanted peace and quiet that was there too. Food was plentiful and tasty, drinks were lovely including plenty of cocktails, cabin (outside plus) was spacious and with loads of storage. Showers were always hot, beds comfy, and I have to give special praise to Anna and Jess (our cabin stewards) who really looked after us. They were very friendly, worked hard and kept our cabin lovely- turning down the beds, plenty of towel art and never intrusive. Cabin 836 has two large, unobstructed windows with lovely views. It was always quiet and a perfect cabin - I would book this one again. Some cabins had windows blocked with lifeboats for eg - be sure to ask Thomsons staff and book a specific cabin to avoid disappointment.

One more mention of staff is Paul Evans, the cruise director. Endless energy, really friendly and chatty, very funny on stage and very personable. We chatted on the first day and he didn't make us feel like he had to rush off or that we were taking up his time. He is a real asset to Thomsons. Read more
